About OCN
OCN – an introduction
The OCN-method is a tool to recognise and communicate life long, non-formal learning. The OCN-method is step by step spreading across Europe with the aim of being a tool not only to communicate learning within national boarders, but also across national boarders.
The OCN method: for quality assurance and increased quality
Current members use the OCN-method in order to quality assure their various training courses and other members use it to quality assure accreditation of prior learning. This is done in several stages. The Panel, Tutor, Internal moderator and External moderator are all key players who shall ensure that correct and just assessments occur within OCN-accredited programmes and enterprises.
The OCN-method benefits our members in a number of ways by increasing the quality of their work methods and providing synergy effects regarding organisation, structure, pedagogic and observation and documentation of learning.
The OCN method: communication of non-formal learning
OCN provide the course participants with a measurable proof of their achievements. This proof exists in the form of OCN-certificates and OCN-credits which indicate the content and level of learning achieved by the participants.
The OCN method: networking and community based recognition
Members are all part of the OCN-network. The OCN-network provide our members with a unique chance to exchange ideas and knowledge with fellow members.
The network of interested parties continually develops, bringing increased legitimacy for OCN-accredited activities, and marketing of the OCN-method.

An exciting future awaits
We truly believe that the OCN-method has enormous potential for all types of organisations involved in the transfer of knowledge, be it companies who run in-house training for their employees to educational organisations involved with any type of vocational training. The principles on which the OCN-method is based do not limit its scope of application; on the contrary, we see unlimited possibilities for its use in all areas where quality assurance is of primary importance.
